Master in Chemistry Curriculum structure at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich
The academic year is divided into two semesters of 14 weeks each, beginning in mid-September and mid-March, respectively.
The ETH degree programmes are structured in a tiered model, leading to Bachelor and Master-degrees. Study achievements in these programmes are rewarded with credits in accordance with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
Doctorates and various forms of academic continuing education lead to advanced qualifications.

The master's programme in Chemistry provides an extensive training in the core areas inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry. In addition, students take elective courses from a wide choice in other fields of chemistry and of related areas. Emphasis is placed on the scientific basis of the education, which is, therefore, strongly research-oriented. The practical training, which takes place in advanced laboratory courses, research projects, and a master thesis, makes up over 50% of the students' workload. The aim of the master course at the Graduate School of Engineering, Shibaura Institute of Technology is to cultivate the ability to adopt oneself to a new aspect of the ever-changing society, and the ability to immediately apply their knowledge and contribute to the society with professional mind.

Master program of Chemical Technology in ECUST has been launched since 1956. In China, ECUST was one of the first institutes which were granted the authority to enroll the Ph. D candidates in 1982. Five units can offer the program for master and Ph. D candidates including Department of Chemical Engineering, Department of Energy Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology Research Centre, Petroleum Processing Research Centre and Institute of Clean Coal Technology. facilities: it has more than 1000 square meters of well-equipped laboratories and a series of large-size apparatues such as nmr, ft-ir, hplc, gc.
faculty & staff: at present the organic chemistry discipline has 6 doctoral advisers, 11 full professors and 10 associate professors, among which 3 are Cheung Kong Scholars.
